Squelching is the scattered first album and release by both MR. CATERPILLAR and The Oil Cavern Records. Lyrically, it is sparse. However, the album makes it up in the sonic variety contained, it goes through many different phases as it transforms from shocking harsh tracks to downbeat odes to melancholy. This is not without it's humourous side which is delivered in strange places and is found all around. The album ends with a 16 minute dirge lamenting the loss of the sun. The album's download also contains 8 bonus tracks from the production of the album which are cut songs, unfinished instrumentals, unedited tracks and an acappella song. A constructed booklet of photographs is also contained.
